Nutraceuticals in Diseases with Particular Emphasis on Cancers and Autoimmune Disorders
Topic Information
Dear Colleagues,
Nutraceuticals, as substances contained in a food, e.g., plants or their fragments, are known for their positive effects on health and ability to help in preventing or treating disorders. Due to a wide range of alkaloids, polyphenols, and terpenoids, they play an essential role in ameliorating chronic illnesses and supporting longevity. Recent studies on exogenous dietary antioxidant supplementation in diverse autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, diabetes, and multiple sclerosis, point to positive effects on so-called “phytochemicals”. Antioxidants have also been widely investigated for their use in adjuvant therapy for cancer patients. Likewise, this Topic is dedicated to manuscripts on the use of nutraceuticals in diseases, with a particular emphasis on cancers and autoimmune disorders. We will accept papers that are literature reviews and original papers presenting in silico, in vitro, or in vivo research, but papers that fall outside these criteria will also be considered.
