Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The work presented by the authors gives a relatively comprehensive assessment of the potential of the photosynthetic apparatus as a powerful tool for monitoring the physiological state of H. hainanensis, whose conditions are monitored using conventional measurement methods such as chlorophyll fluorescence, gas exchange and tracking the level of osmotic substances resulting from the application of different degrees of shading. Analysis of photosynthetic parameters revealed a different pattern of inhibitory effect exerted by L1 and L4 shading types.

The manuscript is well-written and structured, but contains a few incomprehensible sentences and minor ambiguities. I give my suggestions and recommendations in the attached doc file.
