Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Interesting topis but suggested that the literature review to identified the chronology of digital technology and tourism(for example article started by Buhalis, et al, 199) and indicate at to how the study is fit into the trend. This should be focus toward the discussion of the finding as the variable use to measure is acceptable.

Author Response

Dear Professor.

      Special thanks for your comments!

Based on your suggestions, we have reorganized and rewritten the literature section in the chronological order of the research, following the logical sequence of digital transformation, digital transformation of tourism, and the relationship between tourist demand and digital transformation. We also point out that in the current situation where there is a relative abundance of supply-side digitalization and demand-side digitalization research, there is less literature examining the impact of digital transformation on tourism businesses from both a supply and demand perspective. However, one-sided talk about supply-side and demand-side digitization does not lead to a virtuous cycle of digital transformation of enterprises. Therefore, this study complements and extends the current research on digital transformation in tourism firms.

In addition, we have combined the literature and refined the discussion section as well. The core elements of this research paper have been differentiated and described through comparison with previous studies, thus reflecting the scientific, innovative, and practical nature of this study.

The revised sections have been highlighted in red. Once again, we thank you for your comments and suggestions and hope that these changes will meet your approval.

Dear Authors,

Congratulations for your work. It brings a fresh perspective on the impact of changing traveler demand dynamics on the digital transformation of tourism enterprises from China.

I suggest you to improve the discussion section, to better support the research findings. How do you interpret the research results in the perspective of previous studies and of the working hypotheses? Which are the similar published papers and how your findings are positioned with the current literature? Please add more substance to this section.

Lines 455-456 must be removed.

Good luck!

Author Response

Dear Professor.

      Special thanks for your comments!

Based on your suggestions, we have focused on reorganizing and rewriting the discussion section. In order to better compare with previous studies, we have reorganized and rewritten the literature section in conjunction with the chronological order of the studies, following the logical order of digital transformation, digital transformation of tourism, and the relationship between tourist demand and digital transformation as well. It is also pointed out that under the current status quo of relatively abundant research on supply-side digitalization and demand-side digitalization, there is not much research literature on the impact of digital transformation of tourism enterprises from a supply and demand perspective. However, one-sided talk about supply-side and demand-side digitalization cannot lead to a virtuous cycle of digital transformation of enterprises. Therefore, this study complements and extends the current research on the digitization of tourism enterprises.

On this basis, the discussion section is enriched and deepened by comparison with previous studies and a differentiated description of the core content of this paper, thus reflecting the scientific, innovative, and practical nature of this study.

The revised sections have been highlighted in red. We thank you again for your comments and suggestions and hope that these revisions will meet your approval.

Reviewer 3 Report

Dear authors,

You raise an interesting topic regarding the development of modern tourism. I agree that it is worth conducting research on the impact of tourist demand on the digital transformation of enterprises. I am impressed by the work of the authors who have collected 1060 annual reports. However, the article lacks a humanistic reflection related to the development of tourism. As a lover of "slow tourism", I would expect the issue of sustainable development of tourism to be deepened. According to the authors, "digital transformation has proven to be an effective way for companies to achieve sustainable growth." I understand the enthusiasm of the authors, but I do not know if this is not just a slogan. Tourism is not only supply and demand, but also the broadly understood environment, it consists of various stakeholders whose interests tend to be marginalized. But these are just my reflections for the consideration of authors who are conducting important and needed research

The article is written in an interesting way, the goals and methods are well described. I can only see a few imperfections worth considering:

- The title of the article seems too long to me.

- Heat maps (figure 2) and demand analyzes (figure 3) are interesting but their quality is too poor. It's worth improving.

- Line 24 - the word transformation appears 2 times.

- Line 73 - I see it as research goals, not research questions.

- Line 455 - I propose to delete the sentence: "This section is not mandatory but can be added to the manuscript if the discussion is unusually long or complex".

- Line 494 - I don't understand the term "In addition, they addition".

I agree that this study provides new insights into the development of the digital transformation of the tourism sector. I respect authors for recognizing research limitations. I wish you further fruitful research that will fill the research gaps in theory and practice.
