Comments and Suggestions for Authors

To the Authors:

Thank you for submitting your manuscript on the onset of depressive symptoms in pancreatic cancer patients and their caregivers, as well as unmet needs related to this issue. This work addresses an important area of research that is often overlooked.

However, there are several aspects that would benefit from further refinement.

1.      Data Presentation: It would greatly enhance the clarity of your paper if you could compile the prevalence rates of depression or depressive mood among patients and caregivers, as presented in the supplementary material, into a table format.

2.      Detailed Information on Depressive Symptoms: Including more specific information about the symptoms of depression, their progression, and treatment options would be beneficial for the readers.

3.      Background Information: It would also be insightful to provide background information on whether the patients and caregivers had a predisposition for depression prior to the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.

Your efforts to revise the manuscript in line with these suggestions would significantly contribute to the paper's overall quality and relevance to the field.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Very important issue, which is rarely addressed.Validated methods to assess the patients' unmet needs were used, which is the novelty. Those issues additionally affect the treatment of pancreatic cancer, which is unsatisfactory .
