Reviewer 1 Report
Dear Authors,
I have read your paper with interest. It offers a comprehensive review on Antinuclar antibodies testing - methods: past and potential evolution. It also deals with the so-called seronegative disease, screening use, clinical value.
I think the paper is well structured and presented, thank you.

Thank you very much for your kind feedback. In this new version we have done the following actions:
- A few paragraphs in section "3.1 Indirect immunofluorescence (IIF) assays using HEp-2 cells" and section "3.2. Solid phase assays (SPA)" have been rephrased as Editor suggested.
- Figure 6, including a chronological flow chart of the main events in the Past, Present and Future of Antinuclear Antibody (ANA) testing has been incorporate as Reviewer suggested.
Reviewer 2 Report
In this contribution, Marcos and Juan summarized the Past, Present, and Future in Antinuclear Antibodies (ANA). The review article is very well written and the authors have done an excellent job. However, it would be great if the authors could incorporate a flow chart including from first evidence for the existence of ANA to modern/updated work as it would be very helpful for the general audience to follow through.
