Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Dear Authors,

This is all in all a fine paper about experimental work on sand liquefaction. I would only like to give one recommendation: Please introduce all abbreviations and symbols at the place of first usage. This paper will be published in a multidisciplinary journal and some readers may not be familiar with the notations.

Line 42: Introduce the meaning of D_r.

Table 1: explain all abreviations and symbols used in the table.

Table 2: same as table 1.

Kind regards.

Author Response

Dear Editors,

A special thanks to the editor and the anonymous reviewers of Journal of Applied Sciences. The authors really appreciate the editor’s consideration and time for reviewing this paper. As requested, the authors accepted the reviewers’ comments and corrected the manuscript based on editor and the reviewers’ advice. Many parts of manuscript are modified. In the revised manuscript, Figures 3 is newly added. Figures 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 from original manuscript are renumbered to Figures 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11.

The changes in the manuscript are shown as blue colored text in the revised manuscript.

Sincerely yours,

 The authors

Reviewer 2 Report

As I mentioned the manuscripot will improve if the authors can add some more explanation about the divice  used for the cyclic shear test.

Some more explantion of figurs (results) is highly recomended
