-Filtering Hybrid Antenna.

1. What is the meaning of filtering hybrid antenna? There is no explanation of filtering concept in an introduction and abstract

2. Are the dielectric resonator is liquid type or solid? Figure 6 (a) seems like solid instead of liquid

3. If the liquid is used, please specify the liquid and the value of total dielectric permittivity in the DRA's box

4. What are the parameter trying to be filtered by the filtering antenna? Please explain in introduction and show it in result section

-Please provide theoretical explanation and equation for filtering hybrid concept before jump into Antenna Configuration and Design

-Please explain what is the meaning of skillfully adjust at line 87. What are the parameter been adjusted

-Please explain what is the meaning of the same sense of polarization in line 90. Is it the same pattern of polarization?

1.    Key words should be in alphabetical order.

2.    The quality of work can be improved by putting mathematical modeling and analysis.

Authors have presented an interesting study on the design and analysis of a wide-band circularly polarized filtering hybrid antenna. Starting from the strong point the study is backed with a strong theoretical analysis which are then verified using a practical prototype. Moreover, the overall presentation of the manuscript is high. However, there is still a room of improvement. So author should revised manuscript carefully and after round of revision the final decision will be made.

Here are the comments:

In abstract, it is better to mention the frequency range of the axial ratio and impedance bandwidth along with their %age representation. Author should arrange the keyword in alphabetic order. In literature review it is recommended to add some more state-of-the-art filtering antenna which are not limited to Ultra-thin flexible fractal antenna for 2.45 GHz application with wideband harmonic rejection, PDMS Based Compact Antenna for 2.45 GHz Application having Wide Band Harmonic Suppresion. Moreover, it is also recommended to discuss the other filtering techniques like one discussed in a frequency-reconfigurable filtenna for GSM, 4G-LTE, ISM, and 5G sub-6 GHz band applications to highlight the novelty of the manuscript. In fig. 1 (a) no information about the thickness of the L-shaped metals is labeled, similarly, the information about the thickness of feed line connected with Port is presented. The x-axis of Fig. 2(d), Fig. 4(a), Fig. 4(b), Fig. 5(a), Fig. 5(b), Fig. 7(a), Fig. 7(b), Fig. 8 should be kept same. Fig. 3 need to be revised and high resolution scale should be added to increase the readability. Add the bottom side of the fabricated antenna in Fig. 6. Resolve the formatting error issue in table 1

In this article, a circularly polarized singly-fed filtering antenna with wideband characteristics is presented. The manuscript is well written with both simulation and measurement data. However, the article cannot be accepted for publication in its current form. Several modifications and concerns must be addressed before resubmission.

1.      The authors used “Singly-Fed” techniques, however, they didn’t explain this technique in the manuscript. Please, introduce the “Singly-Fed” techniques with proper reference in your manuscript.

2.      The overall volume of the proposed antenna is larger than the other patch antennas. Please include the usage of your proposed antenna in the manuscript.

3.      The authors should add more recent references to explain CP antennas in their manuscript. Here are some suggestions. A Wideband Circularly Polarized Magnetoelectric Dipole Antenna for 5G Millimeter-Wave Communications, Sensors, 2022; and Mutual Coupling Reduction of a Circularly Polarized MIMO Antenna Using Parasitic Elements and DGS for V2X Communications, IEEE Access, 2022. The authors may or may not add them, and they also can find related articles by internet search.

4.      Please, increase the size of the graphs in Figure 2, especially in Figure 2 (d) for better representation.

5.      In Figure 3, the E-field values are not readable, please update the figure. And also the caption of Figure 3 is not appropriate, please check and update accordingly.

6.      The graphs in Figure 7, Figure 8, and Figure 9 are comparatively small to read. The authors should increase the size of the graphs in those figures.

7.      As the authors present the antenna size in terms of λ in Table 1. They should add another column of the center frequency for each reference.

8.      The authors should format Table 1 according to the journal’s template.

9.      The references are not formatted accordingly to the journal’s template. Please update accordingly.

Round 2

Reviewer 3 Report

Authors have address the comments. However, the it is still recommended to add literature review explaining other filtering antenna to give a proper overview to the readers.

Author Response

Thanks a lot for your suggestion. One literature has been added and more explaining about the filtering antenna is added in the revised manuscript.

Reviewer 4 Report

All comments have been addressed in this version, though they have some weak explanations. It has merit to be published in Applied Sciences by checking grammatical errors and typos.

Author Response

Thanks a lot for your suggestion. The grammatical errors and typos are modified in the revised manuscript.
