Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Here are my comments:

- describing the novelty of the work that does not very clear;

-in the results section, it would be useful to discuss the data by comparing them with other works also from similar river basins;

-adding the elevation points on the map in Fig. 1 a;

- entering rain values for the time 2000-2018 in Fig. 2;

-R 229. What do you mean "sediment condition";

-R 230-232. Please, rewrite.

Reviewer 3 Report

First, I congratulate the authors for the manuscript and I have some observations to add, which can improve the text by making it easier to understand. The manuscript approaches the study in a technical and scientific way and contributes to an overview of the wandering reach in recent years. This information will be important for further study.

 At the line 83-84, which talks about the three reaches, figure 1(b) could be cited. Still in figure 1(b) there are 28 names of the cross section in the legend, would they be city names? Neighborhoods? It was not easy to understand in figure 1(b). Still in this figure, would the direction of the profile of the studied stretch of the Yellow River be from SE to NE or vice versa?

 At the line 85 it says Mengjin to GaoCun (GC), on the map the red arrows of the stations are farther apart as in the GaoCum case, making it difficult to see. Where is GaoCum located on this map?

At the line 92, the same problem, the name Huayuankou (HYK) is far from the red arrow.

 After these small adjustments and a more detailed review of the references, I recommend accepting the article.
