2023 October - 64 articles

Cover Story: Computer vision is a powerful tool for healthcare applications as it can provide the ability to perform objective diagnoses and assessments of pathologies. It can also help speed up population screening, reduce health care costs and improve the quality of service. Several articles summarise applications and systems in medical imaging, whereas less research is devoted to surveying approaches for healthcare goals using ambient intelligence, i.e., observing individuals in natural settings. In addition, there is a lack of papers providing a survey of research that exhaustively covers computer vision applications for children’s health. Thus, the aim of this paper is to survey articles covering children’s health-related issues through ambient intelligence methods and systems relying on computer vision. View this paper
