Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The manuscript provides a well written review of current knowledge regarding signaling between the chloroplast and the nucleus with a focus on stress responses. The review covers this area succinctly providing a clear overview.

There are a few minor errors that have occurred during the preparation of the manuscript. I have highlighted some of these in the attached manuscript. These include lack of subscripting, spelling out all abbreviations at first mention, use of italics and spelling out scientific names at first mention.

When these minor errors are fixed, the manuscript will be suitable for publication.

thank you for your careful reading of the manuscript. I have responded to your comments and corrected the manuscript as suggested.

The changes are highlighted in yellow in the revised manuscript.

Kind regards

Reviewer 2 Report

In this review/opinion article several mechanisms that ensure the coordination of chloroplast activity with the cell needs and the communication and continuous signaling between chloroplast and cytoplasm and nucleus and cytoplasm are presented and discussed. Also, the possible role of TOR kinase in the coordination between the eukaryotic and prokaryotic sides of plants is presented. It is a well written article. The author should avoid using first person for example ‘I report several mechanisms …’. A better expression is ‘Several mechanisms are reported ….”.

Author Response

Dear reviewer,

thank you for your careful reading of the manuscript. I have followed the indications in avoiding the use of the first person.

Best regards
