Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The manuscript titled “ Genome-wide identification, expression analysis and functional study of CCT gene family in Medicago  truncatula”  was about studying the genes that might control flowering  in Medicago truncatula. The article suggested that MtCCT genes expression could have key regulators in flowering time as well as in the development of seeds and nodules. Besides these genes could have responses to light and in prevention of abiotic stress.

Overall the article was presented scientifically very well. No linguistic notable errors; and with enough quantity and quality of information and references

Reviewer 2 Report

This paper reports the expression patterns of the CCT gene family of M. truncatula under various developmental stages. abiotic stress and hormone-supplied conditions. Data are clear and results are properly explained and discussed.

Few comments:

  1. Please describe the full name of the CCT in Abstract.
  2. I recommend the beginning of Introduction section with CCT explanation but not with flowering (or flowering time) since the main purpose and experiments of this work were not focused on flowering.
  3. Can you mention or describe in the last part of Discussion section why authors performed this work?
  4. Additionally, authors need to describe the significance and further possible application of your data in the last part of Discussion section.
