Cover Story: Family physicians are essential to ensuring that healthcare systems are functioning well; however, they face significant administrative and cognitive burdens that contribute to their burnout and reduce the quality of patient care they provide. Digital health tools offer potential solutions to these problems. This study examined the interface design and features of a digital health platform, Carmi, designed to mitigate administrative inefficiencies and cognitive overload using asynchronous patient data gathering and automated report generation. We conducted semi-structured interviews with nine Alberta-based family physicians who viewed a 20-minute virtual demo of Carmi. They provided feedback on its interface, navigation, workflow impact, and suggested additional features. The interviews were transcribed and analyzed thematically using NVivo. View this paper
