The article “anti-anemic potential of yogurt with carao in rat model” is interesting study which is evaluate the yogurt with carao is helpful to anemia and dyspepsia. However, the article contained very serious flaw so it need to improve to publish at “foods”

1.     Title: need to mention not only anti-anemic potential, pls add about dyspepsia

2.     Abstract: you conclude that addition of 3% of carao pulp observed good results but materials and methods, figure and table which is contained 2% ????-à please consistent

3.     Introduction L 88-96 need to rewrite. Specially 94-96. Please clearly write what is your aim and what is difference compared previous research.

4.     Material and methods.

A.      Manufacture needs to be consistency. Product (company, city, country)

B.      L 120. Labconco. & L159 Jianwexiaoshi tablet solution -à need to (company, city, country),

C.      L131-L147,  L131 mentioned group 2 through 7 but L 135-140 mentioned only T1-T4. I’m very confused. Which one is negative control which one is positive control ???

5.     Results

A.      Table 2: what is meaning of  *, **, at parameters session?

B.      All tables need to adjust the footnote as a format of “Foods” and all Figure need to adjust “legend font” it’s too big.

C.      Fig 1. B 1^st week -àstatistical analysis is strange

D.      Fig 1. A 1^st week, Figure 2. A 1& 2 week , Figure 4 ferritin & albumin à there are no statistical analysis ??

6.     All abbreviation on Manuscript need to define at the first appear or followed by journal’s guideline.

7.     Is there any reason to use the albino rat to anti-anemic and dyspepsia study??

Quality of English language looks fine for me, however, before submission, please look carefully polish your manuscript, specially contents flow, figure and Table etc.

The manuscript has several issues that the authors must attend to. Below are the comments.

-Introduction section. The objective of the work is not indicated.

-Lines 102-103. Provide the geographical coordinates where the fruits were collected.

-Lines 105-106. Was the 97% concentration of water or ethanol? Revise the writing of the idea for clarity.

-Line 120. What was the rationale for freeze-drying the yogurt?

-Section 3. What was the proximate composition of the yogurt? What are the bioactive (anti-anemic) molecules? Include the information as supplementary material. The information is important for discussing the results presented in sections 3.1-3.3.

-Improve the presentation of figures 1-6. What are T1, T2, T3, and T4. Revise the font sizes.

-The conclusion section must be written according to the objective of the work. However, the objective is missing.

The language of the manuscript must be revised.

Answer: The objective of the work was indicated.

Answer: The geographical coordinates were provided (Latitude 14.84838° or 14° 50' 54" north); Longitude

-85.89356° or 85° 53' 37" west).

-Lines 105-106. Was the 97% concentration of water or ethanol? Revise the writing of the idea for clarity.

Answer: recommendations were followed. Wording was changed.

-Line 120. What was the rationale for freeze-drying the yogurt?

Answer: Yogurt was freeze-dried to turn it into powder and mix it with rat food so it would easier to administrate to rats.

-Section 3. What was the proximate composition of the yogurt? What are the bioactive (anti-anemic) molecules? Include the information as supplementary material. The information is important for discussing the results presented in sections 3.1-3.3.

Answer: Chemical analysis were not performed. The objective of the study was to detect in what level of carao fortification anti-anemic effects were perceived in animal model.
