Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Grains are the most significant food source for human dietary energy globally. Grains, such as wheat, rice, corn, oat, sorghum, millet, rye, barley, etc., provide essential nutrients and minerals, and play a very important role in human life and the livestock sector. The demand for grain production is rising continuously with increasing population. Grain growth and yield are affected by various production environments of which abiotic and biotic stresses are the most limiting factors. Solutions to increase grain crop tolerance and minimize the effects of adverse environments on grain growth and yield have been actively sought. In recent decades, the sprout of novel biochemical and molecular technologies provide new approaches to progressively improve grain growth and yield upon different production environments. In this Special Issue, the most recent accomlishments on molecular and genetic optimization of grains for increasing grain production in response to different abiotic and biotic environmental stresses will be provided.
