Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue explores the advancement and application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) specifically tailored to support position-oriented tasks. Unlike general-purpose AI tools, which are designed for broad functionality across multiple domains, this Special Issue highlights AI systems and technologies developed to address the unique requirements of specific roles and responsibilities. Our focus is on enhancing performance, efficiency, and decision-making in tasks that are inherently tied to particular job positions or functions.

The scope of this Special Issue spans a wide range of job-related activities, including, but not limited to, learning tasks, teaching responsibilities, clerical duties, conference organizing tasks, and official administrative operations. Contributions may address how AI can support educators in delivering personalized instruction, assist clerks in automating routine paperwork, or aid officials in managing complex workflows and policy implementation. By emphasizing context-aware position-specific AI tools, our aim is to deliver smarter, more responsive systems that align with the actual working conditions and task demands of individual roles.

This Special Issue welcomes both original research articles and comprehensive review papers that propose innovative models, architectures, algorithms, or frameworks focused on task execution based on job roles. Topics may include intelligent tutoring systems, AI-based workflow management, smart scheduling assistants, digital clerical agents, and other AI applications designed for defined occupational functions.

Our ultimate objective is to promote the development and adoption of AI technologies that go beyond generic automation by integrating deeper insights into the nuances of specific job contexts. By doing so, this Special Issue seeks to pave the way for more intelligent, role-aware systems that can adapt dynamically to various professional environments, enhance human capabilities, and potentially redefine how tasks are executed in the workplace.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. AI is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
