Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce a Special Issue entitled "Oncology: State-of-the-Art Research in The Netherlands". The Netherlands has emerged as a leading country in the field of cancer research, with a strong commitment from various stakeholders, including academic institutions, healthcare organizations, industries, funding bodies, and patient advocacy groups. The Dutch healthcare system emphasizes inclusivity and ensures that high-quality care is accessible to all.

This Special Issue aims to highlight the cutting-edge research being conducted in oncology in the Netherlands. We invite researchers to submit their work across a wide range of cancer types and stages, spanning from fundamental laboratory investigations to translational and clinical studies. Submissions may include cohort studies, randomized controlled trials, epidemiological studies, and narrative reviews that delve into the historical background and notable contributions of cancer research in the Netherlands.

We encourage authors to present novel findings, innovative approaches, and multidisciplinary collaborations that have the potential to advance our understanding of cancer biology, diagnosis, treatment, and patient care. Topics of interest include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Molecular mechanisms underlying cancer initiation and progression;
  2. Novel diagnostic tools and biomarkers for early detection and personalized treatment;
  3. Targeted therapies, immunotherapies, and emerging treatment modalities;
  4. Survivorship and quality of life in cancer patients;
  5. Palliative care and end-of-life considerations;
  6. Health economics and policy implications in oncology.

By bringing together the latest research findings, this Special Issue aims to foster knowledge exchange, promote collaboration, and inspire future directions in the field of oncology research in the Netherlands. We look forward to receiving your valuable contributions.
