Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Innovative pediatric urologic care is a rapidly evolving field focused on improving the diagnosis, treatment, and management of urological conditions in children. Technology is advancing, offering new and improved equipment for minimally invasive surgeries and enhanced imaging techniques. Further scientific advances have enabled innovative treatment approaches, with bioengineering and tissue regeneration, as well as major pharmacological advances that are changing how we treat certain urological conditions in children. Treatments are increasingly customized based on the child’s condition and specific needs, leading to better outcomes. Teams of pediatric urologists are working more closely with other specialists, such as nephrologists, endocrinologists, and geneticists, to provide comprehensive care. Another advancement is recognizing the impact of urological conditions on a child’s psychological and emotional well-being, with a growing emphasis on integrating psychosocial support into treatment plans. Telemedicine allows for remote consultations and follow-ups, making it easier for families to access care without frequent hospital visits, and innovations in wearable technology enable continuous monitoring of urological health, providing real-time data to inform treatment decisions. These advancements are making pediatric urologic care more effective, less invasive, and better tailored to the individual needs of young patients.

This Special Issue aims to collect the latest innovations that are revolutionizing the way these patients are managed. It brings together research and clinical cases that highlight these innovations and their impact on the way pediatric patients with urological conditions are being treated.

In this Special Issue, original research articles, case reports and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but not limited to) diagnosing, treating, evaluating, or monitoring pediatric urological patients.
