Dear Colleagues,
The increasing prevalence of diabetes represents a significant global health challenge, exacerbated by issues of weight management. Irrespective of the predictions made by the International Diabetes Federation, each landmark year brings a surpassing of said predictions, urging healthcare professionals, institutions and individuals to take action. The effective management of diabetes is intrinsically linked to weight control, as obesity is a major risk factor for the development and progression of this chronic disease.
Given the growing trend of diabetes and obesity, healthcare systems worldwide are under immense pressure. There is a critical need to develop and implement strategies that address both diabetes management and weight control to prevent diabetes complications, as well as diabetes itself through lifestyle changes.
Recent studies have highlighted the importance of integrated healthcare approaches that involve sharing information and coordination among healthcare providers, patients, healthcare organizations and communities. Such integrated systems are crucial for delivering optimal care to patients struggling with diabetes and weight control. Monitoring patient data, such as blood glucose levels, body weight, body composition and physical activity, as well as utilizing remote monitoring systems, can guide patients toward better health outcomes. These practices not only improve patients’ quality of life and reduce mortality rates, but also help in lowering the healthcare financial burden.
This Special Issue invites a wide range of research topics focused on healthcare strategies for diabetes management and weight control. We seek original research articles, case reports and critical reviews (narrative/systematic) that explore innovative approaches and solutions. The topics of interest include, but are not limited to, weight management, diet and nutrition, physical activity, patient-centered care, body composition, dietary habits, diabetes self-care and other related topics.
We look forward to receiving your contributions that will advance our understanding and implementation of effective strategies for diabetes management through weight control.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Healthcare is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
