Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue aims to collate cutting-edge research and reviews that investigate the molecular underpinnings causing diabetes mellitus and novel treatment techniques. We welcome articles that investigate the genetic and epigenetic foundation of diabetes, the role of microRNAs and incretin hormones, and the most recent advances in targeted therapeutics and immunotherapy. The topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Genetic and molecular pathways contributing to the etiology of type 1 and type 2 diabetes;
- Omics studies related to diabetes and its complications;
- Novel insights into the role of incretin hormones and microRNAs in diabetes;
- Innovative therapeutic methods, such as pharmacogenomics and precision medicine;
- Mechanistic investigations into monogenic, mitochondrial and syndromic diabetes.
