Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The development of enhanced oral health services is driving a paradigm shift towards novel and personalized approaches to dentistry. The recognition of the individuality of each patient—whether through genetic predispositions or environmental factors—has transformed our approach to prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

Personalized dentistry incorporates cutting-edge technologies, such as AI-driven diagnostic tools, advanced imaging systems, and biomarker-based strategies, to deliver patient-centered care. These approaches enable clinicians to customize treatments to the specific needs of each individual, improving outcomes and enhancing patient experiences. For instance, personalized strategies have shown potential in detecting patients at higher risk for periodontal disease, tailoring preventive measures for caries susceptibility, and even optimizing treatment plans for oral cancer.

Innovations in this field are equally remarkable, encompassing 3D printing for prosthodontics, digital orthodontics, and regenerative techniques for tissue repair. These advancements not only enhance precision and efficiency but also expand our horizons to envisage more effective and minimally invasive treatments.

This Special Issue will focus on the latest developments in innovative and personalized approaches to oral health in the fields of orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, preventive dentistry, and dental science generally. We welcome papers that provide insights into breakthroughs in diagnostic tools, biomarker discovery, patient-specific treatment modalities, and the integration of digital technologies into clinical practice. By embracing these advancements, the field of dentistry will continue to evolve, ensuring that care is both cutting-edge and uniquely tailored to each patient.
