Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The aim of this Special Issue is to collect various theoretical studies that are related to fuzzy mathematics and include new theoretical results, the applications of which are reflected primarily in image processing. Results of this type in standard mathematics that can be fuzzified are also welcome. Thus, for example, in classifications, instead of the classical, fuzzy metrics are used, the analysis and recognition of blurred parts of the image are performed, and their geometric properties are examined, etc.

We invite you to contribute new results in the following domains: functions with values of [0,1]; fuzzy metric topological spaces; theory of fixed points; uncertainty in geometries (Euclidean, digital, computational, etc.); and system dynamics. New results are welcome, especially in (fuzzy) shape recognition and analysis. We are especially interested in their application in image analysis.

The relevant research topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Fuzzy metric and topological spaces in practical problems.
- Fixed point theory.
- Image analysis and digital and computational geometry and topology.
- Fuzzy and crisp shape recognition and analysis.
- Advanced methods of mathematical modeling and optimization in image processing and other applications.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Mathematics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.

In this article, we introduce several new extensions of Darbo’s fixed point theorem with newly constructed contraction functions associated with the measure of noncompactness. We apply our new extensions to prove the existence of solutions for a system of weighted fractional integral equations in Banach space BC(R+). At the end, we establish an example to show the applicability of our discovery. Full article
