20th Anniversary

The year 2024 marks the 20th anniversary of Pharmaceuticals, a peer-reviewed open access journal on medicinal chemistry and related drug sciences. With an Impact Factor of 4.3 and a CiteScore of 6.1, the journal is covered in  Scopus, SCIE (Web of Science), PubMed, PMC, Embase, CAPlus / SciFinder and other databases. The journal has published more than 6000 papers from more than 37000 authors. More than 10,000 reviewers have reviewed the journal at least once. We equally value the contributions made by our editors, authors, and reviewers.

In honor of the journal’s 20th anniversary, we are reflecting on our past accomplishments and embarking on an exciting new chapter. We invite you to join us in celebrating this milestone for our journal and to explore the content we have prepared for you below.

The inaugural issue was released. Pharmaceuticals was published as a quarterly journal.

The first issue/paper of the Pharmaceuticals was published on 27 January 2004.

Pharmaceuticals resumed publishing and adopted a quarterly publication schedule.

Pharmaceuticals was indexed in PubMed - NCBI.

Pharmaceuticals was indexed in Scopus - Elsevier.



Pharmaceuticals organized the 1st International Electronic Conference Medicinal Chemistry, held on Sciforum.

Pharmaceuticals announced the first edition of the Travel Award.

Pharmaceuticals was indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) - Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics).



Pharmaceuticals adopted a monthly publication schedule.

Pharmaceuticals received its Impact Factor(2019) of 4.286.

Pharmaceuticals received its second Impact Factor (5.863) and second CiteScore (2020) of 4.6.

The Pharmaceuticals received its third Impact Factor (5.215) and its third CiteScore (2021) of 4.0.

Meet Us at Pharmaceuticals 2024—Recent Advances in Pharmaceutical Sciences Towards a Healthy Life, 27–29 November 2024 Barcelona, Spain

We would like to invite you to attend Pharmaceuticals 2024—Recent Advances in Pharmaceutical Sciences Towards a Healthy Life to be held in Barcelona, Spain, from 27 November 2024 to 29 November 2024. The conference is organized by MDPI as well as the access open-access journal Pharmaceuticals (ISSN: 1424-8247).

This meeting will showcase the art of discovering new molecules, their physical properties, and their modes of action in the search for molecular entities that are able to improve health and quality of life for humankind.

Covering the newest technologies, and the research areas of medicinal chemistry, natural products, organic synthesis, radiopharmaceuticals, pharmacology, toxicology, biomolecular and glycosciences, among others, the meeting will bring together experts presenting their latest findings on combatting infection, inflammation, pain and neurodegeneration, to cite some of the relevant topics that will be discussed.
