Plant Endomembrane Trafficking

Dear Colleagues,

Eukaryotic cells have a complex set of endomembrane compartments and proper understanding of its structure and function is central to unravel the mechanisms of cell and organism morphogenesis. Plants share many features with other eukaryotic organisms but have also distinct characteristics involved in numerous, fundamental processes, such as cell wall composition, plant nutrition or immune responses. These specificities are yet insufficiently addressed but many innovative approaches are in course and new data emerging revealing how plants adapted and evolved. In this special issue, we aim to cover recent advances in endomembrane trafficking analysis with special emphasis on the role of proteins and lipids and their interplay in the establishment and maintenance of the plant secretory pathway.

Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Plants is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
