Application of Artificial Intelligence in Polymer Composites

Dear Colleagues,

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in polymer composites has revolutionized material design, manufacturing, and performance assessment. This Special Issue focuses on AI-driven advancements in the design, characterization, structural health monitoring (SHM), prognostics and health management (PHM), and modeling of polymer composites. Topics include AI-assisted modeling, defect detection, failure prediction, digital twins, and the real-time monitoring of polymer composites. We welcome original research and review articles exploring AI applications that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and automation in polymer-based composite materials. Contributions demonstrating novel techniques, experimental validations, and interdisciplinary approaches are highly encouraged.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Polymers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
