Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In recent years, sustainability has garnered significant interest as citizens and communities have recognized the need to address environmental and social concerns (pollution, climate change, resource depletion, work conditions, child labor, etc.). In addition, mounting pressures are being exerted on industrial organizations to operate sustainably via the adoption of responsible practices such as circular strategies, clean processes and ethical operations.

Prior research has established that the sustainability of the supply chain is influenced by triggers such as digital transformation and disruptions, creating both opportunities and threats. Further, the intersections resulting from the sharing of economies, intertwining and collaborative networks are promoting the sustainability and viability of eco-systems. In this context, this Special Issue aims to promote discussion and knowledge exchange regarding the sustainability of the supply chain from a multidisciplinary perspective.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Sustainable supply chain;
  • Sustainability of the intertwined supply network;
  • Circular economy;
  • Circular supply chain;
  • Digitalization and sustainability;
  • Supply chain maturity and sustainability;
  • Resilience, survivability and sustainability;
  • Collaboration, partnership and sustainability;
  • Human centricity and sustainability;
  • Environmental impact assessment;
  • Social responsibility in supply chain;
  • Innovation and eco-design;
  • Sustainable workforce and upskilling.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
