Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The rapid advancement of technology, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), is driving significant transformations in our daily lives. These technologies not only grant us convenience and efficiency but also play a pivotal role in promoting sustainability. The IoT brings an innovative perspective by enabling devices to communicate with networks and implement intelligent solutions autonomously. This offers us unprecedented abilities to monitor, analyze, and optimize resources, contributing significantly to sustainable practices. AI, on the other hand, provides advanced tools for data analysis, predictive modeling, and decision-making that further enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of these solutions. The applications of these technologies span a wide range of sustainable development domains such as the environment, agriculture, climate change, energy, healthcare, smart cities, security, education, etc.

This Special Issue aims to establish a collaborative platform for researchers to exchange and disseminate their cutting-edge findings related to the models, methods, and applications of AI and the IoT in the aforementioned domains. By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge sharing, we strive to advance sustainable development and address critical challenges through technological innovation.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but not be limited to) the following: AI; IoT; machine learning; energy modeling; smart cities; climate change; intelligent agriculture; and educational information science.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sustainability is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
