10th Anniversary

The year 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of Veterinary Sciences, a peer-reviewed open access journal on veterinary sciences. With an Impact Factor oand a CiteScore of 2.9, the journal is covered in Scopus, SCIE (Web of Science), PubMed, PMC, Embase, PubAg, AGRIS, and other databases. The journal has published more than 2000 papers from more than 2000 authors. More than 4000 reviewers have reviewed the journal at least once. We equally value the contributions made by our editors, authors, and reviewers.

In honor of the journal’s 10th anniversary, we are reflecting on our past accomplishments and embarking on an exciting new chapter. We invite you to join us in celebrating this milestone for our journal and to explore the content we have prepared for you below.

10th Anniversary

Journal History

The inaugural issue was released. Veterinary Sciences was published as a quarterly journal.

Prof. Dr. Duncan C. Ferguson was appointed as the Editor-in-Chief of the Veterinary Sciences.

Prof. Dr. Patrick Butaye was appointed as the Editor-in-Chief of the Veterinary Sciences.

In October, Veterinary Sciences was indexed in PubMed and full-text archived in PubMed Central from Vol. 2 (2015).



In December, Veterinary Sciences was indexed in Scopus; Scopus covers the years from 2014 to the present.

Veterinary Sciences received its first CiteScore (2018) of 1.4 in "General Veterinary".

Veterinary Sciences was indexed in Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE)—Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics).

Veterinary Sciences published its 500th paper.

Veterinary Sciences adopted a monthly publication schedule.

Veterinary Sciences received its first Impact Factor (IF) of 2.304, ranking 35/146 (Q1) in the category "veterinary sciences" in the June 2021 release of the Journal Citation Reports®.

Veterinary Sciencesestablished the following sections:
