Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The world is grappling with energy demands and the urgent need to transition towards renewable and sustainable sources. Implementing circular economy and biorefinery concepts in the food and agriculture sector not only reduces waste and conserves resources but also mitigates greenhouse gas emissions, enhances soil health, and contributes to the development of sustainable energy sources. In this context, the Special Issue’s aim is to contribute to the overarching goal of achieving a sustainable agriculture and food industry while minimizing environmental impacts and ensuring food security.
We welcome manuscripts  and reviews that explore various topics of interest, including (but not limited to) the following:

- Optimizing crop selection for food and biomaterials production;
- Sustainable agricultural practices for dual-purpose crops;
- Processing techniques for efficient food, beverage, and biomaterials production;
- Resource efficiency in food and biomaterials production;
- Waste reduction strategies in the food industry;
- Environmental impact assessment of food and beverage systems;
- Sustainable circular models for the food industry;
- Forecasting for solutions in the area of beverage and the food industry.
