Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This paper presented a study on the manifestation and formation mechanism of new characteristics of land disputes using cases from the Yangtze River Economic Belt, China. The topic is interesting and of some guiding significance for characterizing and analyzing the land disputes. The paper was well organized and obtained several meaningful conclusions. However, the following issues should be addressed:

1)       The Abbreviations GDP, GIS in the paper should be specified when first appeared in the paper.

2)       The tense should be consistent in the Abstract and the Results.

3)       The Abbreviation YREB in keywords was suggested to be deleted.

4)       Extra spaces should be deleted, e.g., line 181. And no spaces were suggested in before the term where, e.g., 163. PL check the whole paper carefully.

5)       The format of equations were not consistent in the paper.

6)       The character of some words looks wired, e.g., h in line 198. PL check the whole paper carefully.

7)       The curves in the same figure were suggested to used different color and line type for the convenience of reading, e.g., Figure 6, 7, 8, and so on.

8)       The Introduction of this paper contains less content about the literature review, which only contains general content. It should be enriched by adding specific research introduction.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The manuscript in very interesting and well written. Hence, some minor suggestions has been given.

Introduction:

Introduction has been well formulated. However, the author’s needs to clarify between land disputes and land conflicts as these two are difference concept,

Methodology:

The methodology adopted seems scientific, however, the authors claims in the novelty of the methods in the line 89-91. How authors can justify that these approaches has not been adopted in the scientific literature. Is there any other methods has been adopted and this method provides better results?

Results and Discussion (suggested to merge)

Authors are suggested to elaborate:

What intervention has been introduced in the improved land utilization system need some more elaboration.

Elaborate how proper land use plan has decreased the land disputes or might be potential to increase land disputes.

In discussion section, the argument based on literature support needed to be strengthen.

Conclusion:

It is nice that authors has made conclusion based on the results but some broader conclusion might be drawn. It would be more logical if this is align with sub sections 3.2.1 ……3.2.3.
