Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The problem of right-of-way conflict between tram and CAVs at inter-472 section is analyzed, and the influence of tram length on TSP is considered by the authors in this work. Overall, the article is well organized, has a significant level of English, and tackles interesting contributions. However, the authors are invited to consider the following comments:

1- Authors in the introduction represent a figure illustrating the Schematic diagram of a tram line in network environment (Figure 1). The figure is dense in terms of information and needs more description.

2- Figure 2 shows the trajectory of tram and CAVs in different TSP schemes. Authors must mention the source/reference of this figure. More related details are required.

3- What is the reason behind adopting Intelligent Driver Model?

4- In section 3.3.2, revise "Minimum the total energy consumption for operation".

5- Add a separate section before the conclusion to discuss the work limitations.

6- In the abstract authors must avoid long sentences. In addition, they have to remove ";" and replace them with ".".

Reviewer 2 Report

This paper investigates the problem of collaborative trajectory optimization for trams and social vehicles on arterial road segments with signalized intersections.  The research work is interesting with potentials. However, the reviewer has the following comments for the authors:

Firstly, the presentation is quite substandard, especially for an international journal.  The authors should rewrite the paper thoroughly.

Secondly, too many language errors are found here and there in the paper, which should be avoided in the revised paper.

Thirdly, the motivation and contributions are not clearly expressed. In particular, the authors should strengthen these by extending and improving the literature review part. Some closely-related works about trajectory planning and trams prioritized signaling control would be helpful for you to revise the Introduction section, e.g., [a]. DOI: 10.1109/TIV.2022.3179293. [b]. DOI: 10.1109/TVT.2022.3212023. [c]. Control Engineering Practice, 110(104758).

Fourthly, some practical experimental result should be added, as this paper is application-oriented research work.

Finally, more discussions are suggested,  regarding the contribution and novelty of this paper in comparison with the existing ones.

Round 2

Reviewer 2 Report

The revised paper is improved in general. However, the overall presentation should be further refined, including language polish.
