Cover Story: Work coordination is considered a central aspect in the management of organizations and in crisis and disaster management. There is clear evidence of the critical role of dialogue in the process of knowledge transformation and integration, the relevant role of informal coordination practices in contexts of high uncertainty and the alternation between formal and informal coordination practices in rapid response organizations, such as health organizations. The availability of a tool to identify and measure these practices and their impact on the organization’s results will make these practices visible and enhance their deployment throughout the organization as a key factor in improving the quality of teamwork and care outcomes.
