Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
In the ever-evolving landscape of cancer research, understanding the intricate dynamics of cancer stem cells and their interaction with the tumor microenvironment has become pivotal. We are delighted to invite esteemed cancer researchers and physicians to contribute their expertise to our upcoming collection of manuscripts that will focus on "Cancer Stem Cells and Tumor Microenvironment."
This theme is paramount as it offers a profound perspective on the underlying mechanisms driving cancer progression, metastasis, and therapy resistance. Cancer stem cells, with their unique ability to self-renew and differentiate, play a pivotal role in tumor heterogeneity and treatment challenges. Moreover, their interaction with the tumor microenvironment, encompassing factors such as the supportive stroma and the dynamic immune response, further shapes the disease's course. By sharing your groundbreaking discoveries and comprehensive reviews, you can catalyze advancements in our understanding of these complex mechanisms. Together, we can pave the way for innovative therapeutic strategies and bridge the gap between laboratory discoveries and clinical applications.
We invite research and review papers in the broad field of cancer stem cells and tumor microenvironment. Topics can include but not are limited to tumor biology, metastasis, cell signaling, cancer stem cells, tumor microenvironment, tumor heterogeneity, plasticity, and therapeutic resistance. We look forward to your contributions.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Cancers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2900 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
