Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Worldwide disruptions due to Covid-19 have put a great deal of pressure on Businesses and Ed-ucational Institutions. In a very short period of time, businesses had to adapt to unexpected changes to ensure their survival. Between lockdowns and measures of physical distance, many organiza-tions realized that digitisation was the only way out of the crisis, since their emergency, contin-gency, and business continuation plans, could not be materialized without the implementation of digital means.

But, gradually organisations realized that digitisation and the transformation that comes with it, is here to stay. Digital Transformation (DT) is not a stand-alone process or tool. Rather, it comprises Technology, Processes, People, Organizational Culture, and the ability to understand and utilize its potential. Businesses and educational institutions need to be able to identify the potential within specific digital technologies, to make their business more sustainable, while tailoring educational technology services to the needs of their stakeholders.

In this special issue, we aim to explore the sustainable diffusion of DT in the Business and Education sectors. We invite researchers to consider DT practices, frameworks, tools, real-life examples, best practices, as well as challenges to sustainable development.
