Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Effective dietary strategies play a crucial role in managing weight and related metabolic disorders like obesity, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome. A balanced diet focusing on whole and nutrient-dense foods helps regulate blood sugar, improve insulin sensitivity, and support sustainable weight loss.

Key approaches include the following:

  • Caloric control: Maintaining a calorie deficit through portion control and mindful eating aids in weight loss.
  • Macronutrient balance: A diet rich in protein, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates stabilizes energy levels and metabolism.
  • Low-glycemic index foods: Whole grains, legumes, and fiber-rich vegetables help prevent blood sugar spikes.
  • Healthy fats: Omega-3 fatty acids from fish, nuts, and seeds reduce inflammation and improve lipid profiles.
  • Intermittent fasting: Time-restricted eating may enhance fat metabolism and insulin response.
  • Hydration and gut health: Adequate water intake and probiotic-rich foods support digestion and weight regulation.

Combining these dietary solutions with regular physical activity and stress management enhances metabolic health, promoting sustainable weight management.

This Special Issue aims to explore the latest research on dietary strategies for weight management and metabolic health, with a focus on their impact on metabolic disorders. We welcome original research and review articles that investigate the role of specific dietary patterns, nutrient composition, meal timing, and dietary interventions in improving metabolic outcomes.
