SFG Meeting 2017—The CRISPR Revolution from Bacterial Immunity to Functional Genomics

The French Genetics Society (SFG, http://www.sfgenetique.org) will be pleased to welcome you to the congress on CRISPR/Cas9 in Montpellier, France, on 16–18 November 2017. This congress is organized in collaboration with the “School of DNA” of Nimes and the University of Montpellier.

The SFG chose to dedicate its next Annual Congress to the CRISPR/Cas9 technology, at the heart of fundamental and applied genetics. It will last 2.5 days and registration fees are voluntarily very low in order to attract national and European participants, estimated to 400 attendees. A general public conference followed by a Round Table (in French), giving the state-of-the-art and presenting societal and ethical aspects, will precede the scientific program of the congress organized in three sessions, each covering an important aspect of the genome editing CRISPR/Cas9 technology:

  • “Bacterial Immunity and Beyond” led by Sylvain Moineau (Laval University, Québec, Canada);
  • “Developmental and Physiological Genetics” led by Norbert Perrimon (Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA);
  • “From Functional Genomics to Applications” led by Fabien Nogué (INRA, Versailles, France).
