Cover Story: Sleep is an essential pillar of cognitive functioning, yet its fragmentation profoundly alters brain dynamics and cognitive resilience. This study uncovers how disrupted sleep modulates neurophysiological markers of cognitive fatigue in healthy young participants, shedding light on the intricate relationships between fragmented rest and reduced cognitive performance. EEG and behavioral measures highlight brain compensatory mechanisms and emphasize the critical role of undisrupted sleep in preserving cognitive function and well-being. View this paper
