Editorial Board Members' Collection Series: Natural Product Pharmacology

Dear Colleagues,

Natural products have been a cornerstone of pharmacology, providing a rich source of bioactive compounds with diverse therapeutic potentials. The study of these natural compounds at the molecular level reveals intricate mechanisms that can lead to the development of novel drugs and therapies. Recent advances in molecular biology techniques have significantly enhanced our understanding of how natural products interact with biological systems. These insights include elucidating the molecular pathways and targets affected by natural compounds, understanding their biosynthetic pathways, and exploring their roles in modulating cellular processes such as apoptosis, autophagy, and inflammation. Additionally, molecular studies have shed light on the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of these compounds, contributing to the optimization of their therapeutic efficacy and safety profiles. The integration of genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics with natural product pharmacology offers a comprehensive approach to discovering new drugs and understanding their mechanisms of action. This Special Issue aims to highlight the latest research in this field, focusing on the molecular mechanisms underlying the pharmacological effects of natural products and their potential applications in treating various diseases.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Current Issues in Molecular Biology is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
