Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In the past few years, great progress has been made in urothelial carcinoma diagnosis and treatment options, a disease which is diagnosed in more than half a million people every year.

With the advancements in robotic surgery for the treatment of muscle-invasive bladder cancer and upper-tract urothelial carcinoma, there has been a significant decrease in patient morbidity and mortality, with improvements in the quality of life.

Furthermore, novel trials have incorporated immunotherapy with immune checkpoint inhibitors in high-risk and high-grade non-muscle-invasive urothelial carcinoma, while, in metastatic disease, targeted treatments and understanding the genomic landscape have increased the options available in an oncologist’s armamentarium.

This Special Issue aims to present and evaluate new progress in urothelial carcinoma diagnosis and treatment. Articles associated but not limited to the following topics are welcome: new modalities in the diagnosis of bladder cancer and upper-tract urothelial carcinoma and novel treatment options for localized and metastatic urothelial carcinoma.

Authors are invited to share their experience and submit original studies, case series and reports, or review articles to feature in the “Contemporary Trends in Urothelial Cancer Management” Special Issue.
