Cover Story: Chronic musculoskeletal pain stands as a global epidemic, which impacts individuals' quality of life. Although exercise has demonstrated effectiveness, a substantial cohort of patients encounters barriers hindering adherence. The pursuit of more engaging, and efficacious treatments remains a paramount goal. Virtual reality, offering an immersive experience transporting users into captivating, virtual environments, can concurrently guide them through meticulously designed pain-targeted exercise regimens. Although the potential of virtual reality-based exercise for chronic pain patients heralds a new era, critical challenges necessitate consideration. Ongoing studies are needed to refine these programs to cover individual patient needs, offering a promising avenue for chronic pain management. View this paper
