2024 January-1 - 122 articles

Cover Story: Knowing the (digital) health literacy level of their patients can raise hospital staff awareness and facilitate tailored communication, leading to improved health outcomes. Assessment tools may support healthcare professionals in assessing patients’ (digital) health literacy. Ideally, such assessment tools address multiple domains of health literacy, fit the complex hospital context, and have a short administration time. This literature review gives an overview of available tools for measuring (digital) health literacy used in hospitals. It can guide healthcare professionals in choosing an assessment tool that is feasible in their daily practice and measures the required domains. View this paper
