Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
As you may note, in the last decades, Clinical Nutrition has spread in our scientific interests, spanning from basic to clinical disciplines and transforming our knowledge and medical approach. Its contribution is a real breakthrough into medical sciences and this Special Issue has been arranged to collect the most valuable contributes on the main topics of this area. One of the most important is the role of nutrients on the modulation of gut microbiota and related health issues, with particular interests in metabolic, inflammatory, and neoplastic diseases. The impact of novel foods, additive, processed foods on human health is also an argument of interest. Moreover, articles debating the role of nutritional support in disease-related malnutrition (due to cancer, or acute and chronic inflammation) and perioperative nutrition (including immunonutrition and ERAS programs) are welcomed, as well as manuscripts about the role of hospital food-wasting and strategies to deal with it. Original studies, as well as meta-analysis/systematic review or well-prepared narrative ones, are welcomed.
