Cover Story: The life cycle assessment is an essential tool for evaluating the environmental loads in an agriculture system. This study indicated that the environmental performance of wheat production could be greatly improved by shifting from conventional chemical fertilizers to more environmentally friendly organic farming systems. Reducing the environmental load produced within the cultivation of winter wheat can be achieved by reducing the dose of fertilizers at the cost of a lower yield. The excessive use of N fertilizer has an increasing environmental impact. The reduction in the amount of GHG produced within the cultivation could also be reduced using different cultivation technology. View this paper
