  • The large-scale integration of renewable energy has reduced power system flexibility and exacerbated supply–demand imbalances. In industrial parks, the combined variability of high energy-consuming industrial loads and photovoltaic (PV) generation further complicates the energy management challenge. Aiming to enhance the operational flexibility of industrial parks and mitigate supply–demand imbalances, this paper proposes a multi-time-scale stochastic energy management strategy that accounts for the uncertainty associated with PV generation. First, a conditional generative adversarial network (CGAN) is employed to generate the representative PV generation scenarios, thereby enabling the modeling of PV generation uncertainty within the optimal dispatch model. Considering the coupling mechanisms and control characteristics of various regulation resources within the industrial park, a multi-time-scale dispatch model is developed. In the day-ahead dispatch phase, the operational costs are minimized by optimizing the production plans of industrial loads. In contrast, in the intraday phase, the more flexible measures, such as adjusting the tap positions of arc furnaces and controlling the charge/discharge of energy storage systems, are employed to smooth power fluctuations within the park. A case study validated the effectiveness of the proposed approach, demonstrating a 7.56% reduction in power fluctuations and a 4.34% decrease in daily operating costs. These results highlight the significance of leveraging industrial loads in park-level systems to enhance cost efficiency and renewable energy integration.

  • In the context of precision oncology, understanding the molecular drivers of colorectal cancer (CRC) is critical for improving prognosis and guiding targeted therapy. FBXW7 is a tumor suppressor that plays a pivotal role in CRC by regulating the degradation of key oncogenic proteins, influencing tumor initiation, growth, therapeutic response, and metastatic behavior. Mutations in FBXW7 occur in 6–10% of CRC. Despite its biological relevance, the prognostic and predictive role of FBXW7 in CRC remains unclear, with inconsistent findings across studies. This systematic review collects and analyzes current evidence on FBXW7 mutations and expression in CRC, emphasizing its potential role in risk stratification, therapeutic response, and personalized treatment approaches. A total of 113 records were selected on PubMed, SCOPUS, Web of Science and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials from 2015 and January 2025, of which 48 examined the preclinical landscape of FBXW7 in CRC and 65 focused on its clinical role. FBXW7 mutations are associated with different clinicopathological patterns, including early-onset disease, microsatellite instability, and co-occurring driver alterations, all of which shape prognosis and treatment outcomes. While some variants correlate with immune infiltration and better survival, others, especially when co-mutated, predict aggressive disease and poor outcomes. Furthermore, FBXW7 alterations contribute to chemoresistance and anti-EGFR therapy resistance but also reveal potential therapeutic vulnerabilities. These findings underscore FBXW7’s promise as a prognostic biomarker and a potential target for precision oncology strategies in colorectal cancer.

Agarwood from Aquilaria agallocha, known as chim-hyuang in Korea, is widely distributed throughout Southeast Asia and has traditionally been used to treat asthma, pain, and gastrointestinal disorders. As part of our ongoing efforts to identify bioactive metabolites from natural sources, a phytochemical investigation of the EtOAc fraction of A. agallocha extract led to the isolation and identification of four compounds, N-trans-feruloyltyramine (1), (3R,5R)-octahydrocurcumin (2), 1,7-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)heptane (3), and trans-caffeoyltyramine (4), via HPLC purification and LC/MS-based analysis. Structural elucidation of the isolated compounds was achieved using NMR spectroscopy, LC/MS, and high-resolution electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (HR-ESIMS). The absolute configuration of compound 2 was further confirmed by optical rotation and electronic circular dichroism (ECD) analyses. All isolated compounds (14) were evaluated for their inhibitory activity against tau protein aggregation. Notably, compound 2 exhibited a 43.7% reduction in tau aggregation at 20 μM, without cytotoxicity at the same concentration. These findings indicate that phytochemicals from A. agallocha, particularly the diarylheptanoid compound 2, hold promise as natural lead candidates for the development of therapeutic agents targeting tau protein aggregation.

Hyperthyroidism is a common endocrine disorder in elderly cats, often leading to concurrent cardiac abnormalities. Understanding the development of these cardiac abnormalities and the effect of treatment is crucial for optimizing monitoring strategies and long-term management. Hyperthyroid cats frequently develop cardiomegaly, with left ventricular concentric and/or eccentric hypertrophy, and left atrial dilation. Cardiac abnormalities described in humans with multinodular toxic goiter may differ from those in cats, but, as in humans, these abnormalities are often reversible once thyroid hormone levels are normalized. Definitive treatment options for hyperthyroidism, such as radioiodine therapy and thyroidectomy, are the most successful at restoring the normal thyroid hormone levels. Medical therapy and iodine-restricted diets can also help normalize thyroid hormone levels, thereby aiding the reversal of cardiac abnormalities. However, cats with pre-existing cardiac diseases, like hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, may not show reversible cardiac changes due to these concurrent primary cardiac diseases. Cats with hyperthyroidism should routinely undergo echocardiographic evaluations to monitor for concurrent cardiac abnormalities, both before and after treatment. More importantly, every cat older than 6 years of age with echocardiographic or clinical signs of heart disease should be screened for hyperthyroidism. With appropriate treatment of hyperthyroidism, heart failure can be prevented.

  • The integration of the Scalable Service-Oriented Middleware over IP (SOME/IP) within Automotive Ethernet enables efficient, service-oriented communication in vehicles. This study presents a video stream transmission library using SOME/IP to transfer pre-recorded video data between virtual Electronic Control Units (ECUs). Implemented with vsomeip, OpenCV, and Protocol Buffers, the system handles video serialization, Ethernet transmission, and reconstruction at the receiver side. Experimental evaluation with front and rear dashboard cameras (2560 × 1440 and 1920 × 1080 px) demonstrated that video resolution and file size directly affect processing duration. Optimized 1920 × 1080 videos achieved total processing times of about 400 ms, confirming the feasibility of near-real-time video transmission. A GUI application was also developed to simulate event-based communication by sending object detection updates after video transfer. The proposed framework provides a scalable and modular architecture that can be adapted to real ECU systems, establishing a foundation for future real-time video communication in automotive networks.

  • The relation between motor skills and reading performance among young children has been explored in existing studies, but few of them focused on gross motor skills, and these demonstrated inconsistent findings. The current study aimed to examine the relationship between gross motor proficiency and reading abilities among Chinese primary school students (N = 107, mean age = 8.70 years). Participants completed measures of a non-verbal intelligence test, a gross motor proficiency test, and reading ability tests that assess their Chinese phonological awareness, Chinese morphological awareness, vocabulary knowledge, and reading comprehension. The results of correlational and regression analyses revealed a weak association between gross motor level and each component of reading achievement. Meanwhile, the correlation between gross motor proficiency and morphological awareness, as well as between gross motor proficiency and reading comprehension, did not reach statistical significance. In conclusion, the present study justified the negligible predictive power of gross motor proficiency on reading abilities among Chinese young students.

Background and Objectives: To assess the effects of adding dapagliflozin to an antidiabetic regimen, compared to standard of care (SOC) antidiabetic therapy and a cohort of patients who remained on a non-SGLT2i antidiabetic regimen without treatment modification despite persistent HbA1c elevation, on cardiometabolic control over a 12-month period in real-world settings. Materials and Methods: This ambispective (retrospective and prospective) observational study enrolled adults with type 2 diabetes who had received first-line metformin therapy, or an alternative antidiabetic agent in cases of intolerance or contraindication, excluding SGLT2 inhibitors, for a minimum of 12 months prior to recruitment. Patients were allocated to one of three groups: DAPA, SOC, or therapeutic inertia. Each patient attended three visits. The retrospective (V1–V0) and prospective (V0–V2) follow-up periods each extended for a minimum duration of six months. The primary endpoint was the change in cardiometabolic control from baseline to week 26 (V0), defined as HbA1c reduction ≥ 0.5%, weight loss ≥ 2 kg, and a systolic blood pressure drop ≥ 2 mmHg. Results: Five hundred thirty-five diabetes patients were included (39.1% women), with mean age (SD) 63.8 (8.2) years, body mass index 30.4 (4.9) kg/m2, and HbA1c 6.93 (0.9) %. More patients achieved cardiometabolic control with dapagliflozin (21.8%) vs. SOC + inertia (1.9%), OR 12.7 (95% CI 5.3–30.6), p < 0.001. The difference became greater over the entire study period. Event rates were low, but dapagliflozin exhibited fewer events numerically. The safety profile of dapagliflozin was consistent with previous findings. Conclusions: Treatment with dapagliflozin as add-on therapy was associated with improved cardiometabolic control over time compared to SOC, along with a numerical reduction in events.

  • Mold contamination is one of the critical factors threatening the safety of paper-based cultural relics. Current detection methods rely predominantly on offline analysis, facing challenges such as low efficiency and limited real-time accuracy, which hinder their effectiveness in meeting the technical requirements of cultural heritage preventive conservation. This study proposes a hyperspectral imaging (HSI)-deep learning integrated fungal segmentation framework for deterioration detection in paper-based artifacts. Firstly, the HSI data was reduced to three dimensions via Locally Linear Embedding (LLE) manifold learning to construct 3D pseudo-color imagery, effectively preserving discriminative spectral features between fungal colonies and substrates while eliminating spectral redundancy. Secondly, a hybrid architecture synergizing Feature Pyramid Networks (FPN) with Vision Transformers was developed for semantic segmentation, leveraging CNN’s local feature extraction and Transformer’s global context modeling to enhance fungal signature saliency and suppress background interference. Innovatively, a dynamic sparse attention mechanism is introduced, optimizing attention allocation through the TOP-K algorithm to screen regions richer in mold information spatially and spectrally, thereby improving segmentation accuracy. Semantic segmentation experiments were conducted on papers infected with different molds. The results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves excellent performance in mold segmentation, providing technical support for mold detection and preventive conservation of cultural relics.
